Founder-Led and Field-Tested

Aerofinity Drones was founded by Jonathan Hamson and Mike Cunico. Jonathan and his dad, Ron, own and operate Hamson Ag in Dahlgren, Illinois — a custom application business that has been operating since 1976. Jonathan has been in custom application his entire life and brings deep agricultural experience to every job.

Mike is a 20-year aerospace engineer with a background as a private pilot and drone operator. He brings disciplined aviation practices, drone systems knowledge, and a focus on safety-first operations.

  • Deep custom application roots (since 1976)
  • Aviation-minded planning and compliance
  • Professional crews and repeatable workflows

How It Started

It started as a simple idea and a text message. The operation began in 2023 with two T-40s and a tilt trailer powered by a 12V battery running a cage pump. Everything ran under Hamson Ag at first — focused on doing the job safely and proving the workflow in real conditions.

  • 2024: 12,000 acres in our first full season
  • End of 2024: larger trailer with two 330-gal tanks + 100-gal mix tank
  • 2025: elevated deck trailer + fleet expanded to six drones (T-40, T-50, T-60X)
  • Added two full-time pilots: Maelee and Kora
  • July 2025: Aerofinity Drones launched as a separate entity (affiliated with Hamson Ag)

In 2025, between our own work and contract operations, we covered just over 30,000 acres — nearly tripling output from the previous year. We also added a skid trailer mounted to an F-550 for increased mobility.

Where We Are Today

For the 2026 season, we’ve upgraded our aerial application capability with three DJI T-100s — among the most advanced agricultural drones available. We also expanded beyond agriculture with the DJI Matrice M400 and Zenmuse H20T thermal camera system to support thermal, infrastructure, inspection, and first response needs.

  • Scaled operations with dedicated pilots and equipment
  • Built for reliable application, mapping, and thermal work
  • Safety-first planning and professional job execution
